Reviews

Have to agree that the PA system here is really unsuitable for live music.. the distortion was horrible and there were no monitors.
saf - Aug 06
For a first attempt it wasnt that bad. The delays were originally caused by the first act delaying the whole ine up for about 45 minutes. Although I think the MC should have just cancelled them and made way for the others waiting. And the sound was originally muffled but was eventually sorted. I think the probem was that the musicians wanted the volume higher so turned up the mixer and the venue kept reducing the levels from behind the bar to compensate. When they eventually found the balance it was decent.        Hopefully some performers will give it more than one chance as things can only get better. Great venue and I'll be back.
cab - Mar 06
Not one to remember. The sound (pushed through the venue's tiny wall mounted speakers) was horribly distorted and the consideration given to performers negligible. I emailed to check there would be a slot, was told 9pm, told 10pm on arriving but left at 11 without playing. I can't recommend this one - a shame as Open Mikes in SE London are few and far between.
TripF - Mar 06
